Mailbox Renter FAQ Is your service secure?

We protect the privacy of our customers on multiple levels. All images uploaded and viewed in your browser go over a 2048-bit SSL connection, which makes interception of data virtually impossible. Every information exchange between mailroom operator, end user, web browser, and smart phone is secured with HTTPS. To further protect your privacy, we purposely do not send images of mail in email notifications. All mail has to be viewed on our secured web portal. Our physical servers are located in a tightly controlled colocation facility in the USA with over 20 years of experience in cloud-based storage.

Yes, we accept both mail and packages at all of our locations. Staff will scan the label on a package or the front of a letter and send you an email alert, so you can decide how you want them to handle it Do you receive mail and packages from all couriers?

Our partner locations offer regular street addresses, and accept mail and package deliveries from USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, and any other shipping company. Our locations are open during regular business hours and will sign for all your mail and package deliveries.

What is your refund policy?

You may receive a full refund for the digital mailbox rental within the first 30 days if you did not use your account to receive mail or for any other purpose. Refunds are not provided 30 days after sign-up or after you have received mail in your account or used your digital mailbox for any other purpose.

Can I pick up my mail in person?

Most of our partner facilities allow you to pick up your mail in person during business hours. To confirm the policy of the location you are interested in, please browse to the partner’s page from our Locations, then click on the Full Details link below any service plan.

What is mail forwarding?

Our mail forwarding service ensures that you receive only the packages and letters you really want. You simply choose which items you want, where and when you want them sent, and we will forward them on to you at any destination in the world!

Can NexxBox ship internationally?

Yes. Our partner locations are shipping experts and will be happy to forward your mail to you internationally with no problems. However, for packages, there may be taxes or duty fees involved depending on the contents.

Is there a difference between “shredding” and “recycling”?

All mail disposed of in our facility is recycled. However, if there are any documents you wish to discard that contain sensitive information, you have the option of shredding it instead.

How long is my mail stored?

Your mail is stored for as long as you need it while your account is active.

I only need the service for a short time during my travels; can I sign up just for a month or two?

Yes, one month is the minimum term.

Are there storage limits for scanned contents?

You have access to the scanned content, free of charge, for as long as your account remains active. You can sort scanned content into folders, attach them to emails, download them to your computer, or delete them when they are no longer needed.

What forms of identification are acceptable for USPS Form 1583?

Two types of identification are required. One must contain a photograph of the addressee. Social Security cards, credit cards, and birth certificates are unacceptable as identification. Acceptable identification includes: valid driver’s license or state non-driver’s identification card; armed forces, government, university, or recognized corporate identification card; passport, alien registration card or certificate of naturalization; current lease, mortgage or Deed of Trust; voter or vehicle registration card; or a home or vehicle insurance policy.

Does it matter what address appears on the identification I provide along with my USPS Form 1583?

Yes, the address on your photo ID must match either the home address in Section 7 or the business address in Section 10 of Form 1583.

Can I receive mail in the name of multiple staff members within my business?

Yes. When filling out USPS Form 1583, put your business information in boxes 9 through 11. Then use box 12 to name each member of the company who will be receiving mail. All names listed must have verifiable identification.

Do I have to purchase new software or hardware?

NexxBox requires no additional hardware or software. Simply login to your account via our secure cloud and you’re ready to go!

Do I have to use a change of address?

A change of address is not required when establishing a digital mailbox but is recommended for convenience. Please note that, if you do not file a change of address with the postal service, you must contact senders yourself and notify them of your new digital mailbox address.

Can NexxBox address be used as a home or business address?

All of our addresses can be used for personal or business use. Online business listings will accept our street addresses but might not accept post office boxes.

I need to set up an account for another person. Can I do this?

You can, but some extra documentation is required by the Post Office. When setting up an account for another person, you must fill out the postal consent forms for them and yourself and attach a power of attorney, specifying the right to receive mail on their behalf. If you’re receiving mail on behalf of an estate, please attach an executor’s letter as well.

Can I use a digital mailbox to establish an address for GoogleAdSense and receive an AdSense PIN?

You should not order a digital mailbox if you want to use it for GoogleMaps or GoogleAdSense; Google may not recognize the address as a valid address.

What happens to my mail after I cancel my digital mailbox?

Mail will be received by the local operator for up to six months from the date you terminate, and storage fees may apply. Additionally, if you want your mail forwarded, you will have to pay fees for that service. You cannot submit a change of address form for a digital mailbox. If you have specific questions, please contact the local mail center operator.
